Description
This BMW 5-Series F10 Boot Panel Guard Chrome Trim is made of a thickened stainless steel metal sheet that takes the form and shape of the factory trunk boot panel curve. The stock vinyl panel cover is made of plastic which is soft in nature and is prone to many scratches. No doubt due to prolong usage, many unsightly scratches will be visible on the panel.
On the other hand, this stainless steel trim is durable and hard which was triple-plated with chrome to achieve a luxurious look. It takes the form of the panel curves and is easier to maintain. However, any minor scratches on this stainless steel trim can be easily polished off to reveal its flawless shine again in a matter of minutes!
The trim installation is fairly simple. Just clean the stock vinyl panel with mild soap water to remove any traces of grease and wax. Since the trim is heavy in nature, applying a layer of 3M Adhesive Primer prior to fixing the trim is recommended. The 3M primer will ensure strong bonding between the 3M double-sided tape and the vinyl surface.
