Film tint provides a great option for tinting car taillight or headlights, as it allows the light through the tinting, but restricts the UV light that comes back through. This acts as a protection for your headlamp jewel cases from the damage caused by UV rays such as cloudy eyes or hairline cracks.
The application of tint film can be quite easy and straightforward. Firstly, clean the surface of the taillight to remove any dirt residue or grease before applying the film tint. Next, cut the film tint to a rough size using a precision pen-knife of the vinyl sheets according to your headlight dimension. Peel the protective sheet to expose the adhesive tint sheet and spray some mild soapy water onto the adhesive side to prevent the film from sticking to the surface prematurely before proper alignment.
Now, you can align the film tint over the taillight or tail lamp. You may need to stretch the film to wrap around the shape of the light jewel cases. You can heat up the film using a heat gun to stretch out the film to wrap around the curve. Next, use a vinyl squeegee to push any excess soapy water or air bubbles from beneath the film, working from the center outwards. Once you are done with the tinting job, use a precision knife to cut the film around the taillight, leaving a little extra film around the perimeter. The final step is to use the spatula to tuck the extra edges of the film around the edges of the jewel cases.
