Now, there are 3 different surface materials, if your car come with the stock blue laurel wreath flat emblem, that is having the ABS material. The aftermarket emblem usually comes in epoxy resin or aluminum surface. The epoxy resin surface will turn yellowish and stain with watermarks over time due to prolonged exposure to rain & shine. However, the aluminium surface material is more durable and won’t turn yellowish under UV exposure and will not have watermarks stain under rain & shine.
In order to replace the old standing star emblem, you will need a small plier to turn the original locking trim under the hood in order to remove the standing star. Next, insert this new emblem into the emblem hole and pull the left and right tabs beneath the emblem to ensure the tabs latched onto the hood metal. However, if the tabs are very tight and didn’t click, use a plier to gently pull the tab a little until it latches. Indeed, it’s that easy since this is a direct plug-and-play replacement emblem!
However, if you wish to remove the existing flat bonnet emblem, you need to press both tabs beneath the emblem from under the hood. The emblem will be loosened and you can remove it from above the hood. Then follow the steps mentioned above to fix the new flat emblem.
